Following in her famous parents' footsteps, Hallie Meyers-Shyer will be making her directorial debut this month with the release of Home Again, a romantic comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Michael Sheen.
The 30 year old got her first taste of fame appearing in the films What Women Want and The Parent Trap, directed by her mother Nancy Meyers. She has since turned her attention to filmmaking, and wrote the script to the divorce comedy, Home Again, about the daughter of a famous Hollywood director. Produced by her mother, Meyers-Shyer’s debut film has already garnered praise from critics, with Vox describing it as the ‘palate-cleansing charmer September needs’, while Film Journal International agreed the plot was a ‘nonstop blast of happy, pretty, nice things’.
